Jill Anna Walker Adcock, age 67, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Memphis. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Caledonia First U nited Pentecostal Church, 5850 Cal Kolola Rd., in Caledonia, with Rev. Grant Mitchell officiating. A gathering time for family and friends will follow the service.

Jill was born on October 6, 1955, in Jackson, MS, to the late Lloyd Pringle and Elizabeth Pongetti Pringle. As a young woman she traveled to Alaska, where her daughter, Jessica, was born. After returning to the Columbus area she worked in banks and medical offices. In 1988 she married Ronnie Walker, with whom she lived in Caledonia until his death in 2005. Jill enjoyed travels with Michael Pongetti to Hawaii, New Mexico, the beaches of the Gulf Coast, and New York City. She enjoyed gardening and cooking; her specialties included making pickles with Mimi Adcock and baking her mother’s frosty fruit bars and pepper cookies. She loved walking, making sure her plants were cared for as though they were her children, and making others happy. Her grandkids meant the world to her. She never met a stranger.

Jill’s survivors include her daughter Jessica Moss (husband Justin Moss), of Sarasota, FL; her sisters Katie Cole (partner Joy Jacobson) of Rosendale, NY, Missy Wallace of Jackson, MS, and Julie Pringle of Tucson, AZ; brothers John Pringle (wife Esther Pringle) of Mt. Vernon, MO, and Tommy Pringle of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law Cindy Pringle of Greenfield, MO; grandchildren Colyn Blais of New Orleans, LA, Emma Drummond, of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Chadwick Drummond of Sarasota, FL; great-grandson Ari Robinson of Columbus, MS; dear friends Leyvone (Mimi) and Charles (Gramps) Adcock of Columbus, MS; her “BrotherCousin” Michael Pongetti (partner Samuel Zhao) of Memphis, TN; and many loving friends, church community members, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joey Pringle in 2019.

Jill possessed a strong faith, an adventurous spirit, a passion for nature, and a generous and infectious laugh. When she was diagnosed with a rare cancer in November 2020, she made use of all of these qualities in meeting the challenges of treatment. Those who knew her in the last two years of her life were impressed by her zest for life. She was a loyal friend and family member to many who will miss her dearly.

The family suggests that donations in Jill’s memory be made either to the Caledonia First United Pentecostal Church, 5850 Cal Kolola Rd., Caledonia, MS 39740, or to the National LeioMyoSarcoma Foundation, 1685 S. Colorado Blvd. Unit S, Suite 447, Denver, CO 80220, https://nlmsf.org/in-memoriam.
