JEAN WIGGINS – Laura Jean Wiggins, age 89, of Caledonia, MS, passed away at her residence February 27, 2019, surrounded by her daughters and niece. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2 nd Ave. location with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Rowan Cemetery, then there will be a fellowship luncheon at Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Wolfe Road. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Jean was born July 27, 1929, to Cora Reeves Lindamood and Garland Ribble Lindamood. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and married the love of her life, James R. Wiggins on January 3, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Henry “Bud” Lindamood. She loved her God first and then her family. She was also known as GiGi, Mama, Aunt Jean, Grabby, and Grandma. Mrs. Wiggins was a member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as elder and Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Wiggins Enlow (Glenn) and Jeannie Newman (Donald) both of Caledonia, MS, sister Lucy Cowley of Columbus, MS, granddaughter, Amber Doughty (David) of Columbus, MS, grandson, Daniel Newman (Leslie) of Columbus, MS, grandson, Brian Enlow (April) of Manghum, LA, granddaughter, Tammy Warren (Terry) of West Point, MS, 8 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Newman, David Doughty, Logan Doughty, Jake Doughty, Brian Enlow, and Rooke Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
A special thanks to the nurses and certified nursing assistants at Baptist Hospice, especially Dawn, Shannon, and Teresa.
