Jean Wingo Kyle, age 72, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at her residence in Clinton, MS. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens, 176 Frontage Road, Columbus, MS with Robert (Bob) Honsinger officiating. Jean was born on July 10, 1952, to the late Thomas Wayne Wingo and Irene Pettit Wingo. She graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1970 and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW) in 1974 and two master’s degrees in years after. Jean spent her entire career in education, vocational rehabilitation, and state service positions, retiring from Public Employees' Retirement System. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include her children: Kalen Spell (Ron), Neill Kent; grandchildren: Seth Kyle (Bella), Ariel Spell, and Morgan Shoemaker; siblings: Lynn Logan (Kim), Randy Wingo ( Karen), Jerry Wingo (Cathi), Sherry Honsinger (Bob); a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and very dear friends, Pam and Mark Thomason. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local animal shelter or a charity of your choice.
