JACQUELINE BRUMLEY

Jacqueline Wheeler Brumley, age 93, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 9, 2020, at The Windsor Place.  Graveside services will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Craig Bean and James Brumley officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:15 PM until 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brumley was born May 10, 1927, in Fulton, MS, to the late Hershel Van and Sophia Reed Wheeler.  She was a graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School.  She was a member of the Columbus Church of Christ and long time member of the DAR.  Mrs. Brumley was a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club where she served as past president, worked for a number of years at Brumley’s Sporting Goods and enjoyed traveling.  Mrs. Brumley’s main priority was raising three boys and she had a desire to always better herself.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Billy “Bill” Brumley, son, Dr. Michael Allen Brumley, identical twin sister, Josephine Bean, and other siblings, Reva Gurley, Louise Barnes, Yvonne Rogers, Hershel Van Wheeler, Jr., Carolyn Smith, Terry Wheeler, and Basil Wheeler.

Survivors include her sons, James Terry Brumley and his wife Ellen of Columbus, MS, and Jo Reed Brumley and his wife Tracy of Scottsboro, AL, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Brumley Hawkins of Little Rock, AR,  sisters, Betty Jeffcoat of Bartlett, TN, and Molly Smith of Fulton, MS, grandchildren, James Terry Brumley, II, and his wife Angelee, Mary Ellen Brumley, Brandon Brumley and his wife Jessica, Brodie Brumley and his wife Lyndal, Maura Brumley, Bonnie Brumley, and Dr. William Brumley, and great grandchildren, Brantley James Brumley, Ella Elizabeth Brumley, Beau Michael Brumley, Lucy Bell Brumley, and Lyla Jayne Brumley.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
