James Zuniga
James Zuniga, 54, passed away on February 5, 2019, at his residence in Starkville, MS.
James was born in Rochelle, IL, to Jose Zuniga and Yolanda Morgan on June 10, 1964. He went to elementary and middle school in his hometown of Oregon, IL, and later finished a high school equivalency in Phoenix, AZ. James worked as a DOD employee at Columbus AFB, Columbus, MS. He loved his job and was taking night classes to advance his knowledge and update certifications. James was a friend to everyone he met and known to help friends in need with lodging, food and moral support. He was always smiling and making everyone else smile and laugh with him. He lived to make others happy and his love was genuine with a rare youthful purity. He loved motorcycles, animals, pan dulce, tamales, Karaoke and his greatest joy was his seven nieces and nephews. James loved the Lord and all of his family and friends with his whole heart and his love is without boundaries.
James is survived by his four siblings, Joe (Mary) Zuniga; Minerva (Robert) Brewer; Marina (Dan) Wirsing; and Javier (Lori) Zuniga; his father, Jose Zuniga; mother, Yolanda Morgan; and four nieces, two nephews and many, many cousins and other family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 903 College Street, Columbus, MS, 39701.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial donation in honor of James to the American Diabetes Association , Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or another organization of preference.
