James E. Pullen of Columbus, Mississippi

May 19, 1944 - July 21, 2023

James Everett Pullen, Sr. passed away at age 79 on July 21, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS surrounded by family.  James was born on May 19, 1944 in Columbus, MS to Mary Agnes Pullen and Sandford Pullen.  James served the Columbus community as a property manager and repairman for over 50 years.  He was married to Melinda Honeycutt Pullen for 51 years and had two children, Scarlett Ann Collins of Philadelphia, MS and James Everett Pullen, Jr. of Collierville, TN.  James was a proud member of the Columbus, MS Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church of Columbus.  James' greatest loves later in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  James is survived by his spouse, Melinda Honeycutt Pullen of Columbus, MS, his daughter, Scarlett Ann Collins of Philadelphia, MS, his son-in-law, Scott Collins of Philadelphia, MS, his son, James Everett Pullen, Jr. of Collierville, TN, his daughter-in-law, Amanda Pullen of Collierville, TN, his grandson, Steven Austin Dison (married to Lindsey Dison) of Philadelphia, MS, his granddaughter, Kelsey Blakely Butler (married to Tyler Butler) of Honolulu, HI, his granddaughter, Ashten Davidson of Philadelphia, MS, his grandson, James Connor Pullen of Collierville, TN, his granddaughter, Kiley Madison Gardner of Philadelphia, MS, his granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Collins of Philadelphia, MS, his grandson, Spencer Gabriel Pullen of Collierville, TN, his great granddaughter, Harlee Kaye Brownlee, of Philadelphia, MS, his great grandson, Noah James Butler, of Honolulu, HI, and his great grandson, Liam Austin Dison.  James is predeceased by his siblings, Sanford "Bubba" Marion Pullen and Thomas Mansfield Pullen.  The memorial service will be held for all to attend on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel, 716 2nd Avenue North, Columbus, MS.  Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  You can honor James Pullen’s life by making a memorial donation in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by calling 1-800-805-5856 or visiting www.stjude.org.  James will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather.
