James H. Flanagan age 87, died Wednesday July 12, 2023 at his residence in Columbus. Mr. Flanagan was born in Kosciusko, MS on July 18, 1935 to the late Arbie and Lavelle Flanagan.
After high school Jim attended Mississippi State University for one year, then spent the next two years in the U.S. Army. He finished his education after his military service with a degree in accounting. He then started his career as an internal auditor with Economy Finance in Jackson, MS. He retired as a plant accountant for McMillan Bloedel in PIne Hill, Alabama. During his lifetime the enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and watching MSU sports. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Billie, sons, Mitch, (Julia), and Mike, (Laurie), granddaughters, Shea and Erin, sister, Dot, and numerous nieces and nephews.
