Jack Graham Newberry of Caledonia, Mississippi

Jack Graham Newberry, age 89, of Caledonia, MS, passed away March 11, 2020, at his residence.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Newberry was born July 18, 1930, in Washington, DC, to the late John Knox and Ruth Eloise Davis Newberry.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Newberry was a graduate of Mississippi State University and received his teaching specialist degree from Delta State University.  He worked for the Lowndes County School District for over 20 years and was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gloria Ann Halbert Newberry of Caledonia, MS, daughter, Christi Newberry Painter and her husband Michael of Caledonia, MS, brother, Donald Mack Newberry of Norfolk, VA, grandchildren, Robert Graham Allen of Anderson, SC, and Evan Rhys Painter of Caledonia, MS, great grandchildren, Johnathon Gage Allen, Casey Gunnar Allen, and AnnaGrace Marie Allen, nephew, Michael Halbert and his wife Melinda of McCalla, AL, and great nephew, Brent Halbert.
