GWENDOLYN JOURDAN

Gwendolyn Darlene “Gwen” Jourdan, age 62, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 11, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 903 College St. location with Pastor Roy Plymon officiating and Pastor Steve Blaylock assisting.  The private family interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Miss Jourdan was born April 19, 1958, in Columbus, MS, to Betty Jo Cowart Jourdan of Columbus, MS, and the late Roosevelt F. Jourdan.  She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and MUW where she received a degree in business administration.  Miss Jourdan worked as bookkeeper for the family cattle operation.  She also worked for many years for Dr. John Murphy, Dr. Walter Cosby, and at Baptist Memorial Hospital in medical records.  Miss Jourdan was a member of First Pentecostal Church, loved to sing and play the piano, and was an avid reader.  She loved her great nieces and all her family.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her brother, Terry Jourdan and his wife Debbie of Brooksville, MS, sister, Amy Thorn and her husband Tim of Columbus, MS, nephews, Terry “T. J.” Jourdan, Jr., Dusty Jourdan and his wife Christy Carol, Cameron Jourdan and his wife Lauren, and Ryan Thorn and his wife Hannah, and great nieces, Hallee Jourdan, Ava Grace Thorn, Eden Thorn, Kate Thorn, and Annie Joy Thorn.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
