Garrett Wayne “Buddy” “Turk” Walters resided in Columbus, Ms. Born on December 4, 1952.

On Friday July 23, 2021 5:25am, Buddy Walters passed away at Regency Hospital in Meridian, MS with his wife by his side. He was 68 years old.

Buddy is survived by wife Peggy Jo Walters, children: Karah Walters, Alyssa Hayley Walters, Clay Walters and Lindsey Walters Johnson; grandchildren: Ann-Marie Chapman, Dakota Johnson, Jaxon Baldwin; nieces and nephews: Mike Ferguson, Michael “Mikey” Ferguson, Bobby Ferguson, Anna Belle Ferguson, Shelby Ferguson, Katie Hadley Lopez, Steven Hadley, Jason Milling, Brandon Milling; sisters: Carol Ann Hendricks, and twin Patricia “Pat” Hadley.

Buddy and Peggy Jo had just celebrated their 39 ^th wedding anniversary a week prior to his passing.

Buddy was a house painter for 45+ years. Painting was his passion and he would paint everything, even his trucks with a paintbrush! He had a heart of gold and would give his last dollar and shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was always very thankful for what he had and appreciative. He loved being around people and never met a stranger.

He was the best daddy to his children and best pawpaw to his grandchildren. Many will miss him immensely!

Buddy was born in Rhode Island and grew up in Caledonia, MS. He is a U.S. Army Veteran.

Buddy is preceded in death by parents: J.C. Walters and Ann B. Walters; grandchildren: Rodney Garrett Baldwin and Axl Knight Scott.

Services will be on Saturday August 14, 2021 at 4pm located at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd 321 Forrest Blvd. Columbus, MS 39702.
