Gabie was born on February 10th, 1939, in Columbus, MS. She was the only daughter of Johnnye and Fannye Maude Franks.  She graduated from both Lee High School and Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW) now MUW. On Aug. 5th, 1961, Gabie married Louis Nabors.  After being stationed in Biloxi, MS while Louis was in the Coast Guard they returned to Columbus where they raised their five boys, Burt, John, Ben, Gabe, and Marsh on Nubbinridge Farm.

Gabie was a wife, mother, artist, and gardener.  She and Louis lived a life dedicated to one another and their family; it is no surprise that she departed shortly after his death, in the Spring, her favorite time of the year.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society.

Her family wishes to thank all of Louis and Gabie’s friends who have shared their life.  A special thanks to Debbie Lawrence of New Hope who was always there to help Louis and Gabie navigate their cell phones or make electrical repairs on their home.
