FREDA THOMAS

Freda Fulgham Thomas, age 91, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 27, 2021, at Trinity Personal Care.  Funeral services will be Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Sanderson officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point, MS.  Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 903 College St. location.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thomas was born May 31, 1929, in West Point, MS, to the late Curtis Floyd and Emma Edwards Fulgham.  She was a graduate of West Point High School and Mississippi University for Women.  Mrs. Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Cledith “W. C.” Thomas, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Christine Marie Richards and her husband Scotty of Columbus, MS, sons, William Edward Thomas of Columbus, MS, and John Milford Thomas and his wife Susan of Columbus, MS, sister, Joyce Fulgham Spangler of Columbus, MS, brother, John Lamar Fulgham of Columbus, MS, sisters-in-law, Ann Thomas Sparkman of Columbus, MS, and Christine Thomas Ready of Waco, TX, grandchildren, Austin Edward Broadaway and his wife Nicole, Brittany Ann Thomas, Joann Thomas Loper and her husband Dillon, and Blake Edward Thomas, and great grandchildren, Hadley Therese Broadaway and William Carter Broadaway.

Pallbearers will be deacons and men of First Baptist Church.
