Frances Hawkins

FRAN HAWKINS – Frances Ann “Fran” Easley Hawkins, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 9, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory College St. location with Rev. Curtis Bray officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Hawkins was born July 30, 1940, in Columbus, MS, to the late James W. and Tip Smith Easley. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Hunter Distributing. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Columbus Host Lions Club and the Northaven Garden Club.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Hawkins (Mary Helen) of Columbus, MS, daughter, Beth Hawkins (Chris Barksdale) of Columbus, MS, brother, Buddy Easley (Kathy) of Columbus, MS, sisters, Carolyn Blake (Late Phil Blake) of Columbus, MS, Glenda Beard (Wayne) of Columbus, MS, Cynthia McGee (Forrest) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Rose Coggins (Danny) of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Taylor Cox (Corey), Trey Hawkins, and Mallory Glasgow, great granddaughter, Kendall Cox, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Oren Cantrell, Sean Lytle, Jeff Coggins, Phil Coggins, Wayne Beard, Forrest McGee and Danny Coggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Pannell, Ollie Lee, Lee Sanders, Bubba Comer, Mike Lollar, Johnny Renacker, Kenny Smith, Curtis Foster, Tommy Foster and Jimmy Ruffin.
