Frances Springfield Hargett

Frances Springfield Hargett, age 81, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 31, 2019, at Vineyard Court Nursing Center. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL, with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory College St. location is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hargett was born November 14, 1937, in Lamar County, AL, to the late D. W. and Josie Lee Dobbins Springfield. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hargett was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Hargett, and son, James Stanley “Stan” Hargett, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Ken Hargett of Columbus, MS, and Tim Hargett of Columbus, MS; daughter-in-law, Stacy Hargett of Oxford, MS; sister, Nancy Turner of Fayette, AL; special niece, Linda Pinkerton of Vernon, AL; brother, Dan Springfield of MO; and grandchildren, Heather Hargett, Brad Hargett, Terra Bowling and her husband John, Mary Lauren Boykin and her husband Michael, Hallie Doyle and her husband Eric, and Jamie Howard and her husband, Doug.
