Florence Mccullough

Florence May Haynes McCullough, 88, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus, MS.  The family will hold a private graveside service.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

F lorence was born on February 19, 1933 in Belmont, MS to the late Beatrice Wilson & David Haynes.  She was of the Episcopal faith, loved reading, spending time at the beach, and refereeing Scrabble games amongst her beloved grandkids.  She was an artist and a member of The Columbus Art Association.  She retired from banking after serving the Columbus community for 30+ years. On May 17, 1954, she married her husband, Herbert Granville McCullough, with whom she shared her life with until his passing in 1994.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Haynes.

Mrs. McCullough is survived by her three children: Lea McCullough of Columbus, MS, Wes McCullough (Kandi) of Columbus, MS, and Herb McCullough (Diane) of Navarre, FL; six grandchildren: Cody, Shane, Will, Matthew, Nathan, and Katy Beth McCullough; two great grandchildren: Parker and Finley McCullough; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to The Columbus Library.
