F. E. Smith Frank “FE” Smith, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Columbus, MS. He was a longtime resident of Lowndes County. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria June Smith, two children, Jeffery Smith and Shelline Smith, two sisters, Patty Underwood (Larry) Faye Johnson (Grant), two brothers, Ron Smith (Linda) and Roger Smith (Vicki) along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. FE served his country for over 24 years in the United States Air Force with two deployments to Vietnam. He served his country bravely in peace and war. FE had a great love and talent for restoring vintage cars and motorcycles. In fact, he won so many trophies at local car shows that he gave many away to children who seemed to love them. FE had a great sense of humor! He also had a kind and generous heart with a quick wit that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at Memorial Gunter Funeral Home, 716 2nd Ave. N, Columbus, MS , 662/328-4432 Sunday, January 30th from 2 to 4 pm. A Memorial Service celebrating FE ‘s life will be held Monday, January 31st, 11:00 am at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 2 Legion Road in Kilmichael, MS 662/262-4232.
