Eugene Barton, age 79, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away February 21, 2024, at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Barton was born April 2, 1944, in Pickens County, AL, to the late Earnest and Tessie Hester Barton. He was a graduate of Liberty High School. Mr. Barton retired from CECO after 40 years and enjoyed farming, gardening, and working puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann Barton of Ethelsville, AL, children, Roxane Barton of Ethelsville, AL, Kim Barton Jaynes and her husband Alan of Ethelsville, AL, Richard Eugene Barton and his wife Amanda of New Hope, MS, and Charles Randall "Pip" Barton and his wife Misty of New Hope, MS, grandchildren, Haley Reed and her husband Robert, Dylan Barton, Brody Barton, Abbie Barton, Zoe Barton, Harrison Barton, and Bentley Barton, and great grandchildren, Kate Barton and Amelia Reed.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
