Elizabeth Foote Caldwell

Elizabeth Caldwell, 54, passed away January 19, 2023, at her home in Columbus, MS after a courageous battle with glioblastoma surrounded by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Aberdeen with Dr. Shawn Parker and Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery near Aberdeen

Elizabeth was born on October 19, 1968 to James and Karen Breaux Foote in Davenport, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Stewart Caldwell, III; her two daughters, Aubrey Caldwell of Columbus, MS and Mary Beth Caldwell of Tioga, Texas; her mother, Karen Breaux Foote of Aberdeen, MS; her sister, Rachael Moody (Gerald) of Mantachie, MS, her brothers, James (Jimmy) Foote (Lori), of Fulton, MS, and Charles (Chuck) Foote (Amelia), of Tupelo, MS; 5 nephews and 4 nieces, all of whom she adored very much. She was preceded in death by her father, James Aubrey Foote. After completing a BA in accounting from the Mississippi University for Women, she became an Accountant for Bryan Foods/Sara Lee for 12 years. Elizabeth later earned her MA in Accounting from Liberty University; she taught higher education accounting courses and became the CFO of Alliance/SouthernAg for eight years. Her work at Southern Ag was the highlight of her career as she loved her work and her “work family.” Elizabeth was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses from Ephesians 4:32---- “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.”  As her health began to fail, she would often recite Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” She never lost her faith, her smile, or her positive attitude that she passed on to all she met! Elizabeth was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. From family trips to Alaska and beach trips with friends and family to watching Mary Beth and Aubrey participate in barrel racing events, she cherished every single second of watching her girls grow into beautiful young women. When she spoke of their accomplishments over the years, her face would light up and a big smile would spread across her face. Elizabeth had a vivacious personality and always made people laugh around her. She was full of tenacity, wit, charm, grace, and undying love for her family and friends. Elizabeth loved reading a good book, sipping her coffee while rocking on her front porch, gathering with her friends and family, and sending funny texts to all of her siblings and friends! She loved God, her husband, her “girls,” her family, and her friends! She LOVED her life!

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Rita Clark and Gentiva Hospice for taking care of Elizabeth during this hard time.
