Edna West Young

EDNA YOUNG - Edna West Young, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 28, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  A memorial service will be Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 903 College St. location with Chaplain Paul Walker officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Young was born November 9, 1932, in Guntersville, AL, to the late Jack and Artie Mae West.  She was a graduate of MUW and retired as a school teacher from Franklin Academy.  Mrs. Young was a member of the Columbus Air Force Base Chapel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Arvil Young.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Young and his wife Sharon of Paris, TX, and Charles L. Young and his wife Susan of Charleston, SC, grandchildren, Justin, Casey, Rachel, and Claire "Kei" Young, and great grandchildren, Kaylee, Coleman, Leah Kate, and Riley Young. And sisters, Jackie Lusk of Arab, AL, and Mag Disbennett of Guntersville, AL.
