DOUGLAS WALKER

William Douglas Walker, age 84, of Columbus, MS , passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home on Lake Lowndes Road in Columbus, MS, with his wife, Ann at his side.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel, 716 2nd Ave. North, Columbus, MS, 39701 , with Pastor Carol Lambert officiating and David Lawrence assisting.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of the service.

Mr. Walker was born October 3, 1937, in Tuscaloosa, AL, to the late W. J. E. and Velma Jenkins Walker.  He graduated from Lee High School in Columbus, MS, and Mississippi State University in 1960 with a BA degree in Arts and Science.  He served for 6 years in the National Guard, and worked for 28 years as a draftsman at United Technologies.  Following his career at United Technologies, he earned his Real Estate licenses and worked for a number of years with McCrary Reality.  Douglas, a Christian, was a member of the Baptist denomination, but attended Forest United Methodist Church for many years.  He enjoyed photography and videography, and loved country and gospel music.  He and Ann loved camping, boating, and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Lawrence Walker, brother and sister-in-law, James Eugene and Ethel Walker, brother-in-law and wife, David and Alice Lawrence, and a host of cousins and friends.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
