Dorothy Jean Dexter Holliday died on August 15, 2023, at the age of 86. A graveside service will be held Saturday August 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Palo Alto Cemetery in Clay County with Rev. Anne Russell-Bradley officiating. Visitation will be held Friday August 18, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home 716 2nd Ave N.
Dot, as she was called, was born on October 11, 1936, to Emma Bell Goode and William Wallace (Bill) Dexter. She graduated from West Point High School in 1954 and MUW in 1958 with a degree in bacteriology. She went to work at Doster Hospital as a lab technician and worked there until 1964.
She married James Allan (Rocky) Holliday in 1961. She stayed home raising her daughters until 1982 when she went to work at Sears until 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years James Allan (Rocky) Holliday.

She was a wonderful grandmother to her six grandchildren, Leigh Dexter Monistere, (Sammy), Alexander Morson, Amelia Wright, (Walker), Andrew Morson, Mackenzie Wablington, and Emma Wablington. She had one great grandchild, Arthur Morson.
Serving as pallbearers will be:
Pete Dexter, Don Hudson, Alexander Morson, Andrew Morson, Sammy Moinistere, and Walker Wright.
