Dorothy Pickering

Dorothy Lucille George Pickering, age 85, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 28, 2022, at Winona Manor in Winona, MS.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Shaeffer's Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Bailey officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pickering was born November 30, 1936, in Columbus, MS, to the late Cleo and Nettie House George.  She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and retired teacher.  Mrs. Pickering was a member of Shaeffer's Chapel United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. H. Pickering, brother, Billy George, and sister, Peggy Stacy.

She is survived by her son, William "Dale" Pickering and his wife Nina of Columbus, MS.
