DOROTHY HODGES
Dorothy Hodges passed away June 8, at The Arrington Assisted Living in Columbus. A graveside service will be held Sunday June 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Vaughan Cemetery in Steens for close family and friends. MS Hodges was born February 9, 1930 in Columbus to the late Thomas S. and Ellen Chappell Hodges, Sr. She was member of Antioch Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. After her tour of duty, she moved to New York City and was employed by New York Life Insurance Company as a health insurance consultant. She later moved to Arrow Head Island, South Carolina where she was employed at the Island Club in timeshare and sales until she returned to Columbus. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Atkins and her husband Roy.
Survivors include her sister Rebecca Hodges Roach, (Al), of Marietta, GA, brothers, Thomas S. Hodges, Jr. (JoAnn), and Jim Hodges, (Hazel) both of Columbus.
