Donald Lynn Weathers, 60, passed away March 5, 2021 at his residence.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00pm at Memorial Gardens with Tim Childs officiating.
Don was born in Columbus in 1961 to Charlie Faye Moore Weathers and the late Marvin Benjamin Weathers. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus where he attended Lee High School. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Marvin, and his older brother, Danny, and became an electrician. He enjoyed working with his family at Weathers Electric. Don was a member of IBEW Local 917 where he served many years as Vice President. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Don had a love of the outdoors and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed tending his blueberry bushes and apple trees, reading, and working jigsaw puzzles. He was a devoted fan of Atlanta Braves Baseball and all Ole Miss sports.
In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie, and his wife, Carol Cook Weathers. He is survived by his mother Charlie Faye Moore Weathers, brothers Jim (Liz) Weathers, Danny (Vicki) Weathers, a sister, Carolyn Weathers Brown (Keith), Carol’s children Jamie Baucom and Justin Lewis, grandchildren Colton Baucom, Addie Baucom, Kira Baucom, and Landon Lewis, his caregiver Shawndel Pace and her son Bentley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chip Brinyark , Bryan Brinyark, Glenn Griffin Jr., Mark Weathers, David Weathers, Michael Weathers, and Robin Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Crowley, Bill Robinson, members of IBEW Local 917, and past and present employees of Weathers Electric. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don’s honor to Caledonia Church of Christ Freed-Hardeman preaching fund.
