Donald Charles Schippel of Columbus, Mississippi

Donald Charles “Donnie” Schippel, age 77, died in Columbus, Mississippi, on February 27, 2019.

Donnie was doing what he loved to do. His entire life was dedicated to being there for anyone, especially the people he loved, and that was many. He was our protector. He loved his church, friends and family. He was a loyal friend to anyone who needed him. He was one of the hardest- working people in this world.

Visitation will be in the atrium of Annunciation Catholic Church on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with   Father Jeffrey Waldrep, Celebrant.The interment will be private. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, 2nd Ave. N. location, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Donnie was born February 8, 1942, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Wilson and Marie Good Schippel. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Nickels, Ginny Bores, Vernona Bloomquist, Isabell Witter and Lois Geiger; and brothers, Lester Schippel and Richard Schippel.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Calhoun Schippel; son, Charles Wilson Schippel of Columbus; two beautiful grandchildren, Landry Wilson Schippel and Andrea Elizabeth Schippel; brother, Roger Schippel (Nancy) of Sandusky, Ohio; and sister, Joan Spieth of North Canton, Ohio.

Pallbearers will be Farley Shaw, Tom Buckley Mike Formel, Bud Phillips, Doug Phillips and Allen Kerby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Johnson, Mickey Brislin and his loyal breakfast club friends.
