DEE DAVIS
Dewanna Faye “Dee” Davis, age 76, died Monday, December 13, 2021, survived by Bilbo Davis, her loving husband of 59 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Shawn Parker and Rev. Kevin Cuthbertson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m at the church, immediately followed by the service.
Mrs. Davis was born on Thursday, February 01, 1945 in Columbus, MS to the late Vernon Aaron Studdard, Sr.  and Scottie Sherrill Speights Studdard. She married Bilbo, her true Prince Charming, on December 22, 1962, and they built a beautiful life together during their 59-year marriage - an epic love story for the ages. They were 30-year members of First Baptist Church. She was a 1963 graduate of S.D. Lee High School and attended Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama, while raising her family. Known as “Nana” to many people, she loved her church family and especially her Joy Group. She had a great love for her Lord, a passion for Brazil Missions, and a heart for travel. She could keep a baseball scorebook better than major league scouts, and skied the Swiss Alps at 71 years old. Her hair was always perfectly coiffed and nails beautifully manicured, and her youthfulness and energy always amazed everyone. She loved the holiday season, because that meant being surrounded by her family. She was fiercely protective of her family, her “tribe ”, and she loved her children and grandchildren with her full heart and soul. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Vernon Aaron Studdard, Jr.

Survivors include: Her husband, Bilbo Davis; daughter, Dana (Bobby) Ballinger; sons:
Michael Scott (Abby) Davis and Larry Chandler (Samantha) Davis; her grandchildren
Scottie (Lindsey) Davis, Andrew Davis, Lindsey (Paul) Ballinger, Will Ballinger, Anne Claire Ballinger, Emma Rose Davis, Claudia Davis (Errico) Cavaliere, Jackson (Halle) Ballinger, Chandler Davis (Trevor) Pompeo, Isabella Davis, Evin Ballinger, Piper Davis, Cade Hollingsworth and Adelyn Hollingsworth; and two great-grandchildren, Beckham Ballinger and Collins Cavaliere. She was also survived by her siblings, Evelyn Levine, Larry Studdard, Tommy Studdard and Sherrill Studdard, along with many nieces and nephews.
