David Rufus Brown

David Rufus Brown, Jr., age 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 24, 2019, at the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 2 nd Ave. location.
Mr. Brown was born June 29, 1945, in Isola, MS, to the late David Rufus and Ola Mae Barham Brown. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Korea serving in the United States Army. Mr. Brown worked for many years as a truck driver, plumber, and heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Helton and her husband James of Arnold, MO, sisters, Peggy McDaniel of Philadelphia, PA, and Debbie Trussel of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Derrick Brown, Josh Mills, and Brycen Mills, and great grandchildren, Serenity Brown and Kase Alexander Brown.
