DANNY FORTNER
Danny Ray Fortner, age 72, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 27, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 2 nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fortner was born March 1, 1947, in Columbus, MS, to the late Ed and Beulah Harrell Fortner. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus and Lowndes County, and a veteran of Vietnam serving in the United States Army. Mr. Fortner worked as a truck driver for Hollis Roofing for many years and was a member of McBee Baptist Church. He loved his pets and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Sims Fortner of Columbus, MS, sisters, Marie Golden of Columbus, MS, and Peggy Murphy of Muskogee, OK, and half brother, Eddie Fortner of TN.
