Dale Monroe Shepherd, age 64, of Caledonia, MS, passed away July 9, 2024, in Steens, MS. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church. The interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Dale was born August 16, 1959, in Columbus, MS, to Marguerite Aldredge Shepherd of Columbus, MS, and the late Charlie Shepherd. He spent his summers on the baseball diamonds of Propst Park pitching for his Dad's teams. Dale graduated from Caldwell High School, had many hobbies, loved to crack jokes and try to make a joke about anything and everything, and was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Dale loved to research his Shepherd and Aldredge family history. Dale loved our Lord and was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, tirelessly lending a hand both day and night to anyone in need.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Vickie Pettigrew Shepherd of Caledonia, MS, daughters, Leah Stone and her husband Matt of Caledonia, MS, and Elisabeth Fletcher and her husband Aidan of Caledonia, MS, brothers, David Shepherd and his wife Vicki of Newnan, GA, Donnie Shepherd and his wife Jill of Frisco, TX, and Dean Shepherd and his wife Kelly of Kenner, LA, sisters, Mary Jane Brown and her husband Frank of Columbus, MS, Sharon Peebles and her husband Bob of Newnan, GA, and Wanda Johnson of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Banks Stone, Lynlee Kate Stone, and Liam Fletcher, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Shepherd, Donnie Shepherd, Dean Shepherd, Matt Stone, Aidan Fletcher, Kurt Shepherd, Andy Brown, Mickey Bray, Zach Foster, and Matt Brown.
