CHRISTINE EDWARDS –

Irma Christine Edwards, age 94, of Columbus, MS, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Friday, January 31, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location with Rev. Steve Brown officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Maben, MS.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mrs. Edwards was born May 7, 1925, in Itta Bena, MS, to the late Govnor and Lola Lee Buckner White.  She retired from the Lowndes County Schools as a cafeteria manager.  Mrs. Edwards was a member of the former Church of God of Columbus where she served as Sunday School teacher.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, C. G. Rushing and Hugh Edwards, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Hugh Rushing and his wife Mary Helen of Columbus, MS, and Ray Rushing and his wife Vicki of Starkville, MS, sister, Grace Bohanon of Seabring, FL, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
