Christian Pearson

Christian Bradley Pearson of Columbus, Ms, age 22, passed away on April 20, 2022 surrounded by his family at The Heart and Lung Transplant ICU of UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.   Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory, officiated by Rev. Albert Wilkerson and Rev. Byron Benson.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Christian was born in Starkville, MS on June 13, 1999. He was a member of East End Baptist Church.  Christian attended school k-12 at Caledonia, where everyday according to Christian was "the best day ever!". He graduated in 2017 and was a member of the Beta Club.  He attended EMCC until his illness forced him to stop.

Being diagnosed at a young age with a rare form of MD that in his teen years affected his heart, Christian spent a lot of time in the hospitals around the country.  Doctors and nurses were inspired by his positive attitude in spite of his health problems.  He made lifelong friends during these hospital stays.

Christian had a huge personality and never met a stranger.  As a friend, he was kind, loyal and generous.  He loved people, and they loved him in return.  He had a quick wit and enjoyed good times.

Chrisitan loved fishing with his grandaddy, beach trips, snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming.  His favorite destinations were his Aunt Sha Sha and Uncle Randy's cabin in the North Georgia mountains where he celebrated his birthdays, Panama City Beach, FL, and Hawaii, which he enjoyed with extended family.  Christian was a huge MS State Bulldog fan, especially home football games.

Christian is survived by his mother, Jodi Eberhard (Phil) of Claymont, DE and his grandparents Tim and Nancy Sewell of Columbus.  He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Johhny and Peggy Cash and Boyd and Ila Mae Sewell, all of Columbus.

Christian loved and was loved by his special cousins, Kendall Couch of Caledonia, Karlyn Jones, Saylor Jones, and Ivy Jones of Waleska, GA.  They worshipped the ground he rolled on.

Chrisitan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his favorite neighbor, Mrs. Jewell Woodward.

Pallbearers will be Will Burton, Jonathan Fotinakes, Jackie Jones, Triston Gardener, Floyd Pickens, Ragan Robinson, and Bobby Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be the College and Career Class at East End Baptist Church, the Caledonia High School Class of 2017, Sierra Binder and Gwen Robinson of Baptist Memorial Hospital, Dr. Chet Villa, Dr. Angela Lorts, VAD Coordinator, Katrina Fields, and Dr. David Morales of Cincinnati, the staff of Children's Hospital, Dr. Salpy Pamboukian, Dr. Haj Asaad, Dr. Joanna Joly, Dr. Andrew Lenneman, and Dr. Jose Tallaj of UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
