Cherritte Frates

CHERRITTE FRATES - Cherritte Eads Frates, age 81, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 12, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Pastor Russell Mord officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Frates was born November 24, 1941, in Aberdeen, MS, to the late J. D. and Autie Ree Wallace Eads.  She was a 1961 graduate of S. D. Lee High School.  Mrs. Frates was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a current member of Sovereign Faith Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, preserving, and cooking the gifts of the garden and truly enjoyed her friends and being of service to others.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Sonny Andrews and Billy Frates, brother, Buddy Eads, and sister, Anna Langford.
Survivors include her son, Ernie Frates, daughters, Sharon Croft, Kimberly Ferrell, and Holly Leahr, brother, Larry Eads, sisters, Linda Massey, Donna Wright, and Barbara Salling, grandchildren, Jamie Croft, John Croft, Rachel Moreno, Drew Ferrell, Jesse Campbell, Shanna Leahr, Lydia Leahr, Aisha Ababneh, Marian Ababneh, and Norah Ababneh, and great grandchildren, Bjorn Croft and Tristen Campbell.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
