CHARLIE UPTON

Charlie William Upton, age 87, of Columbus, MS , passed away December 5, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be Monday, December 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Beersheba Cemetery with military honors and Rev. Byron Benson officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Upton was born August 20, 1933, in Columbus, MS, to the late Charlie Merle and Millie Lollar Upton.  He was retired from the United States Air Force and also worked for a number of years in civil service at the Columbus Air Force Base.  Mr. Upton was a mason and shriner and was a member of the East End Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his wife, Katrina Hawkins Upton, and sister, Edna Neal.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Upton and his wife Sue, and Dewayne Upton and his wife Carol, all of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Becky Pearson and her husband Charles, Melissa Duke and her husband Jeremy, and Carey Upton and his wife Brynn, and great grandchildren, Dalton Speed, Kelsi Speed, Alexis Mason, Madelyn Mason, Carsyn Upton, and Presley Upton.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of he East End Co-Ed Sunday School Class, Marty Dees, and neighbors and friends on Betty Dr. and Spivey Rd.
