Chandler Strickland

Bruce Chandler Strickland, 43, of Columbus, MS passed away on June 26th, 2023.
Chandler was born on March 18th 1980 in Columbus, MS.
He is survived by his parents Jimmie Nell Howard Davis of Columbus, MS and Rodney (Dorothy) Strickland of Vernon, AL., his step-mother Patsy (Lynn) Pigford of Aberdeen, Ms., his daughter, Macee Strickland of Oxford, Ms., brothers Chad Strickland (Amber) of Centennial, Colorado and Luke Killebrew (Amber P) of Caledonia, Ms., Nieces and Nephews, Lucas, Whit, and Scout Killebrew and Serene and Sawyer Strickland, aunts - Frances (Stan) Weathers, Faye (Danny) Avery, and Barbara Davis, cousins – Scot, Lynda, Kim, Coye, Marc, Paul, Candi, Tracey and numerous other family members who loved him dearly. The family would also like to recognize special family members that have offered endless support and encouragement, Melody and Reggie Swan, Angie Atkins and Aunt Mot Ward.
Chandler was preceded in death by his step-father Ronald Davis, his grandparents Bessie (Mawmaw) Howard and James (Shorty) Howard; Tommie Strickland and Jackie Gunter.
Chandler, affectionately known as Chan Chan the Monkey Man was a beautiful soul. He accepted Christ at an early age in his life. Chandler blessed everyone that came in contact with him with a beautiful smile and big hug. He fiercely loved his family, his daughter Macee Reid and his loyal companion and fur baby, Pimpin, who is part chihuahua and pit bull. He was tough on the outside but on the inside he felt things deeply. He never left or ended a phone conversation without saying I love you. He was always willing to offer a helping hand and he took great pride in his work. He was loyal to those he loved and would do anything for them or to make them smile. He loved to laugh and be with family. Chandler will be missed tremendously and has left a void in our lives that will never be filled.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be from
11:00AM-12:00 PM at Canaan Baptist Church: 1008 Lehmberg Rd. Columbus, Ms 39702.
