CAITLYN BEALL
Caitlyn Shaw Beall left this earth on August 13, 2021 and is now in the arms of God to spend eternity. Caitlyn was the beloved daughter of Lina Beall and the late Coach Charlie Beall. Caitlyn is survived by her son, Charlie, named in honor of his late grandfather. She is also survived by her sister, Cam Beall Bostick (Nick), Uncle and Aunt, Jeff and Nina Allen. Caitlyn leaves behind a host of cousins with which she shared many wonderful Thanksgivings at the family farm, and annual beach vacations in Florida. She also leaves lifelong friends Susan and Amanda Mackay and Courtney Pridmore Keene Caitlyn also leaves behind her “first child” and constant companion of 13 years, her chocolate lab, Louie.
Caitlyn graduated from Heritage Academy and attended the University of Alabama. Caitlyn brought a warmth into the lives of those she held most dear. She was a bright, warm, caring, and compassionate person who had the ability to find the best in others. Caitlyn was accepting of everyone and those who had the opportunity to be around her felt her genuine warmth and openness. Caitlyn was one who left a lasting impression with many who crossed her path. Like her father, Coach Beall, she was always herself and never worried about impressing others. She also loved to laugh and enjoyed life. She was known as her father’s “mini me.” She considered the comparison to her father as the highest of compliments. The words “sweet” and “kind” were the characteristics used by people, young and old, in their description of Caitlyn.
Charlie was Caitlyn’s pride and joy. They loved riding the golf cart through the woods on the family farm. Caitlyn was always pointing out interesting things to Charlie and explaining about things as they drove along the forrest trails. Caitlyn and Charlie fed horses, played ball, hide and seek, checked deer stands, and picked fresh fruit to enjoy as they spent the time outside. Caitlyn and Charlie had special mother and son times at bedtime from reading their favorite books and watching his favorite movies.
Caitlyn had a silent battle she had fought for 10 years and that was of having a mental illness. This illness took an outgoing, vivacious young woman with a wonderful future and turned her life, hopes, and dreams upside down. Caitlyn received the best in mental health treatment; but medicines both new and old did not permit her to have the same lifestyle she once knew. Caitlyn also battled a drug addiction in the past few years. She found encouragement from the stories of others with a mental illness and drug addiction who were able to recover and lead fulfilling lives. Her life’s goal was to be successful in her recovery from the mental illness and drug addiction.
