BURL WOOD

Burl D. Wood, age 89, of Steens, MS, passed away June 13, 2021, at Windsor Place.  Funeral services will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch McWilliams officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wood was born May 13, 1932, in Clinton, TN, to the late John and Media Mae Galbraith Wood.  He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired from the United States Air Force.  Mr. Wood also retired from Sears Automotive and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Ruth Wood, daughter, Cheryl Clark, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his daughters, Natalie Wood of Spring, TX, Allison Bryan and her husband Karl of Auburn, AL, and Dione Scott and her husband Paul of Columbus, MS, son-in-law, Charlie Clark, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
