BRANDON SESSER

Andrew Brandon Sesser, 40, died December 21, 2020, in Starkville, Miss., following a short illness.

Brandon was born November 18, 1980, in Columbus, Miss., to Royce Scott Sesser and Marilyn Dossett Sesser. He attended New Hope schools through his junior year of high school, where he was a part of the New Hope Trojan baseball team. Brandon moved to Eupora, Miss., his senior year of high school, and graduated from Eupora High School. Upon graduation, he moved to Starkville, Miss., where he would remain for the rest of his life.
Brandon attended East Mississippi Community College in Mayhew, Miss., where he took part in the school’s computer technology program. After graduation, he worked with various companies helping them with their cybersecurity initiatives, before returning to East Mississippi Community College in 2006 as an instructor in their computer program. Brandon would later become the Information Systems Technology Department Director at EMCC, and he worked for more than 14 years to grow that program and inspire hundreds of students who passed through the doors. EMCC’s IST department offers a variety of study concentrations, such as Computer Networking, Computer Programming, Cybersecurity and Database Administration, and Brandon worked diligently to acquire grants and further training to help bring these programs to life. He also helped high school students through EMCC, preparing them for future careers in technology fields. He worked with many organizations, and helped establish the GT Hackathon, as well as taking part in the Golden Triangle Comic-Con for many years. In January 2020, Brandon was named an Honorary Commander of the 14th Communications Squadron at Columbus Air Force Base. He never met a movie line he couldn’t quote, and he passed his love of music on to his son, Rain. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents Royce Scott Sesser and Dr. Marilyn Dossett Sesser Bowen.
