Bobby Eugene Mcmillen

Bobby Eugene McMillen, age 88, passed Thursday, August 3, 2023, surrounded by four generations of family.
Mr. McMillen was born on January 6, 1935, in College Hill, MS, to the late Marion Frances Hardy and Clyde Garnel McMillen. He grew up on the family farm in Ponotoc County. He was a member of Columbus First Methodist Church and a retired mechanical/electrical engineer whose distinguished career included numerous patents and awards. He was an avid Mississippi State fan and loved working in his yard. He was a devoted husband, friend, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 65 years, LaNelle Garner McMillen, Columbus, MS; children, Lynne Rosamond (Bill Rosamond), Columbus, MS, Lisa Sykes (J. Clay Sykes), of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Morgan Sykes, Jordan Sykes, Jake Sykes, Hunter McMillen (Mandi McMillen), Rachel McMillen Gott (Daniel Gott), and Julia Rosamond; great-grandchildren Cooper and Hadley Gott; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in passing by brothers Charlie and Edwin McMillen, sister Linda McMillen Winter, and sons Bradley McMillen and Robert McMillen.
Services were held Sunday August 6, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home Chapel.
