Bob James Marvin Freshour

BOB FRESHOUR - James Marvin "Bob" Freshour, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 16, 2024, at his residence.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Freshour was born October 11, 1934, in West Point, MS, to the late Grady and Velma Ponder Freshour.  Bob was a truck driver for many years and finally retired at the age of 81.  He loved stock car racing and would have raced up to the end if his body hadn't given out on him.  But more than anything he loved his family and will be greatly missed.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve Freshour and Frank Freshour.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shelby Jean Handley Freshour, son, Tracy Freshour and his wife Jamie of Abilene, TX, daughter, Robin Balthis and her husband Michael of Columbus, MS, brother, John Ed Freshour and his wife Beverly of West Point, MS, grandson, Grayson Balthis of Austin, TX, granddaughter, Jessica Dyess of Abilene, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews.
