Beverly Jean Lanke

BEVERLY LANKE - Beverly Jean Lanke, long time resident of Columbus, MS, passed away March 24, 2022, at 89 years of age.  Graveside services will be Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Leonardo Dismukes, Sr. officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Bev was born in Cudahy, WI, on February 26, 1933, to a large and loving family.  She was an excellent student and excelled in chemistry.  As a teen, Beverly was a member of many volunteer organizations including Jobs Daughters International.  Bev married her best friend and classmate, Richard Lanke of March 5, 1954.  They were married for over 65 years and travelled the world together.  Richard and Beverly called Columbus home for over 45 years.  She volunteered as a pink lady at Baptist Memorial Hospital, taught special needs children, and helped make Braille Bibles for the blind.  Beverly was a loving mother with the patience of a saint.  She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Beverly's legacy includes two sons, a daughter, three grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
