Bettye Ann Bridges

BETTYE BRIDGES – Bettye Ann Gunnells Bridges, age 77, of Columbus, MS, passed away January 15, 2019, at Trinity Healthcare.  Funeral services will be Friday, January 18, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey Waldep officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Annunciation.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory College St. location is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bridges was born May 14, 1941, in Pineville, LA, to the late Luther and Beulah Dupuy Gunnells.  She worked as a florist for a number of years.  Mrs. Bridges was a United States Air Force wife and mother and enjoyed helping with Girl Scouts.  She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her brother, Luther Gunnells, Jr., and sister, Jean Trout.

Survivors include her husband, Charles M. “Charlie” Bridges of Columbus, MS, daughter, Carrie A. Jourdan of Columbus, MS, sons, Charles Marshall “Chuck” Bridges, Jr., of Gilbert, AZ, and Paul Anthony Bridges of Kentwood, LA, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
