BETTY POTTS WILLIAMS

Betty Jean (Potts) Williams, age 78, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home Chapel, with minister Bill Hurt officiating; burial will follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
Ms. Betty, as she was affectionately known as, was born in Rockford, TN on December 22, 1945 to the late Charlie Dexter and Lillie Mae (Talley) Potts. She was one of twelve children and was a 1963 graduate Everett High School. She was also a long time employee of Seminole Manufacturing and the Donut Factory in Columbus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Williams of Columbus, her sisters Melody (Hazel) Allison, Rosa Lee Wilson, Regina Gail Whitehead. Her brothers, Charles Ray Potts, Robert Potts, and Tommy Potts.
Survivors include, her son Todd Williams (Jose Miranda, partner) of Carrollton, TX, sisters, Helen Foster (Curtis), Judy Austin, brothers, John Potts (Michelle), James Potts (Julia), Randy Potts (Marsha).
Serving as pallbearers will be John Potts, Ricky Potts, Mike Williams, Ryan Musgrove, Jose Miranda, and Todd Williams.
