Betty Joyce Whaley age 86 died Saturday September 28, 2024 at Windsor Place Nursing & Rehab Center in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Alabama with Pastor Granville Wiggins officiating. Mrs. Whaley was born on February 14, 1938 in Columbus to the late Howard and Ramie Jewell. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church and a retired seamstress. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Whaley. Survivors include her son Thomas Whaley and his wife Nelda, grandchildren, Christopher Whaley, Jennifer Ingle, Cherie Whaley, and 6 great grandchildren.
