Betty R. Montgomery

Betty Richardson Montgomery, age 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away June 9, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 2 ^nd Ave. North  location.  A graveside committal will be at a later date at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX.  Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Allen, TX.

Mrs. Montgomery was born April 13, 1940, in Columbus, MS, to the late Lelon Gary and Lottie Jones Richardson, Sr.  She was married to the late Jimmy Roy Montgomery, and they lived in San Diego, CA, during his military career and then Dallas, TX and Columbus, MS.  Mrs.. Montgomery was a member of the former Murrah’s Chapel Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Louise Montgomery, brothers, Lelon Richardson, Jr. and Chesley Richardson, and sisters, Evelyn Bailey and Ruby Richardson.

Survivors include her son, James Stanley Montgomery of Columbus, MS, daughters, Dee Harmond and her husband Mike of Allen, TX, and Carolyn Fratt and her husband Greg of Allen, TX, brothers, Howard Richardson of Ethelsville, AL, Ott Richardson of Columbus, MS, Larry Richardson of Columbus, MS, and Johnny Richardson of Macon, MS, sisters, Faye Richardson of Columbus, MS, and Wilda Lehr of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law Louise Carter of McKinney, TX, grandchildren, Joshua Montgomery, Ashley Harmond, Hunter Harmond, Addison Boone and her husband Carson, Kennedy Fratt, and Grant Fratt, and great granddaughter, Naomi Montgomery.
