Betty Gee Mcnees

Betty Gee McNees, age 92 passed away on July 28 ^th at Greenbriar at the Altamont in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mrs. McNees was born on May 13, 1930, in Pickens County, Al to John W. Gee, Sr. and Rossie Wilcox Gee. She lived most of her life in Pickens County, AL and Columbus, MS.

She and her husband moved to Birmingham, AL in 2005 to be near their children and grandchildren. She attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years James Edward McNees; her daughter Diane Materna Lee; and her one sister Catherine Gee Tilley.

Survivors include her daughter, Jamie McNees Gleason ( Jeff ); one brother John W. Gee, Jr. ( JW ); grandchildren Kaitlyn Gleason and Austin Gleason; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gunter and Peel Funeral Home, Columbus, MS is in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held at Friendship Cemetery, 4 ^th Street South, Columbus, MS, at 2 pm on August 2 ^nd .
