BETTY BUCHANAN

Betty Maharrey Buchanan, age 94, of Crawford, MS, passed away December 30, 2020, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS.  Graveside services will be Friday, January 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens of West Point with Rev. Russell Mord and Pastor Kathy Brackin officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory 716 2 ^nd Ave. North location is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Buchanan was born August 17, 1926, in Osceola, AR, to the late Bennie and Rilla Mitchell Maharrey.  She retired from United Technologies after many years and was a member of the Crawford United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Buchanan and seven siblings.

Survivors include her son, Gilbert Dale Buchanan and his wife Hilda of Crawford, MS, daughter, Nina Brown and her husband Chris of Crawford, MS, brothers, Curtis Maharrey of Okolona, MS, and David Maharrey of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Richey Buchanan and his wife Tina, Kristy Taylor and her husband Robbie, Rodney Buchanan and his wife Jennifer, and Deanne Robertson and her husband Jack, and great grandchildren, Paige Summerford, Brooks Taylor, Kate Taylor, Neil Taylor, Morgan Robertson, Sarah Robertson, Corabeth Bobertson, Dale Buchanan, and Brody Buchanan.

Pallbearers will be Morgan Robertson, Dale Buchanan, Brian Buchanan, and Neil Taylor.
