Beth Ann Grissom Beard

March 31, 1963 — April 18, 2024

BETH ANN BEARD - Beth Ann Grissom Beard, age 61, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 18, 2024.  She was surrounded by her family at Hock Family Pavilion, a beautiful hospice home in Durham, NC.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the former First Baptist Church, 202 7th St. North, Columbus, MS, 39701, with Rev. Kevin Cuthbertson officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Beth Ann was born March 31, 1963, in Hayti, MO, to the late Joe Edward and Betty Ash Grissom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Glen Grissom, father-in-law, Neil Beard, and nephews, Hunter Grissom and Sawyer Prisock.
Beth Ann was a graduate of Heritage Academy.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and president of All Star Fence, LLC.  Known lovingly by her grandchildren as "Sassy", she loved to travel and host friends and family at her home in Columbus.  She was an avid Ole Miss supporter and lover of fresh flowers and anywhere sunny.  She spent every moment possible with her soulmate, Jerry Wayne, and loved nothing more than to watch him play guitar and sing.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Jerry Wayne Beard of Columbus, MS, son, Carson Arnett Beard and his wife Claire of Wake Forest, NC, daughter, Bethany Beard Williamson and her husband Tyler of Cary, NC, brother, Danny Grissom of Tuscaloosa, AL, sisters, Joan Lann and her husband Walter of Aberdeen, MS, and Gina Prisock and her husband Buddy of Starkville, MS, mother-in-law, Gracie Beard of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Sam Beard, Charlie Mae Beard, Kane Williamson, Nash Williamson, Remi Cate Williamson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Caddis, Robbie Godwin, Jack Hayes, Steve Kelley, Rick McGill, Ronnie Pennington, Gene Reid, Mike Sweedenburg, Steve Yarborough.
