BERNICE BROWN
Bernice Johnson Brown, age 89, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 30, 2022, at her residence. Funeral services will be Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Bro. Rodney Brazil and Chris Ham officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Kennedy City Cemetery in Kennedy, AL. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Brown was born February 4, 1933, in Kennedy, AL, to the late Huey and Susie Griffin Johnson. She worked as an inspector for 39 years at Seminole Manufacturing and was a member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and yard work, and she loved her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Brown, Jr., brothers, John William Johnson and Causie Johnson, and sister, Kathleen Goree.
Survivors include her sister, Charlene Jones of Columbus, MS, brother, Charles Johnson and his wife Elwanna of Steens, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Shepherd, Mark Jones, Home Beaty, Ronnie Smith, Ernie Williams, and Charlie Dale Jones.
