Benny Edwards of Columbus, Mississippi

September 25, 1940 - January 21, 2022

BENNY EDWARDS

On January 21, 2022 Benjamin James “Benny” Edwards went to be with the Lord.  He lived a full 81 years of life and never met a stranger.  Benny is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Edwards, daughter Tammy Edwards Ketcham (husband Duane) grandsons, Michael and Daniel Ketcham; nieces and nephews Angie Raab (husband Gary), Kim Manning; Alex and Chris Manning, Rhianna Raab, his special great-great niece Ozaline “Cutie Pie“ Manning, and his two special Aunts Mary Ann James and Patsy Burkes.  He is Proceeded in death by his mother and father Mildred Leonard Edwards and TA Edwards. Benny was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. The support of his church family will forever be cherished.  Special and loving thanks are extended to his neighborhood family, especially Patricia and Donald Doster. Mr Sam Wells, and Stephen Tucker.  A price cannot be placed on the unconditional love and support shown by them during these years.  His caretakers provided exceptional and loving care to Benny and are now family friends:  Valerie Miller, Diana Granger, Shanta Williams, Kyle Taylor, Nicole Coleman, Laura Jaudon, and Lori Riddle.  All this support allowed Benny to remain in his own home.  Gunner was Benny’s dog who stayed by his side during his illness.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, with Bro. Charlie Whitney officiating.
