Benjamin G. Reid

BENJAMIN REID – Benjamin G. Reid, Sr., age 84, of Columbus, MS, passed away July 6, 2019, at Windsor Place.  Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2 ^nd Ave. location with Rev. Bobby Sanderson officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with military honors.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Mr. Reid was born December 31, 1934, in West Point, MS, to the late Gardner Reid and Lillie Rambo Burcham.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.  Mr. Reid worked for many years at General Tire and was a Baptist.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Therrell Reid and brother, Joe Reid.

Survivors include his son, Ben Reid, Jr. and his wife Cheri of Peachtree City, GA, daughters, Anita Rickman and her husband Glenn of Caledonia, MS, and Wanda Carol Stanfield of Columbus, MS, aunt, Raye Rambo Young of West Point, MS, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sterling, Kerri Howard, Heather Swetz, Elania Rickman, Justin Faulkner, Kasey Stanfield, and Erin Stanfield, and 4 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
